Shroom Drop 2021

game of shrooms 2021

#SHROOMDROP

June 12th 2021, all over the world shrooms dropped. Thousands of artists and seekers around the globe eagerly participated in this years Game of Shrooms art event. Game of Shrooms was first started in 2019 by artist Attaboy, and has grown larger every year since. It's a fun and inclusive event, open to anyone of any age or skill level.

I created four shrooms from polymer clay and mixed media to hide around my hometown of Geraldton - three small and one biggie! I also participated in 2020, hiding four shrooms around Fremantle in Perth.

The rainy weather made things extra challenging, but I managed to find some creative spots of cover and sneakily dropped my shrooms during brief breaks of sunshine. It turned out to be a great day and all four were found after location hints were posted on my Instagram and Facebook. It was awesome to have so many individuals and families out searching and having a blast!

Game of Shrooms is scheduled to run again in 2022 and it's the more the merrier! Follow @attayumfactory to keep up to date with Game of Shrooms news. It was exciting to see a few more dots on Australia this year, and hopefully we'll have even more shrooms dropping in the future!

My name is Rachel Weaver. An artist inspired by sugar and spice… and things not so nice. Experimenting with polymer clay and mixed media to create the weird ideas that fill my head late at night.
