Geraldton Bollards Art Refresh

A few years back, I was lucky enough to have a couple of my artworks gracing bollards around the Geraldton CBD. Unfortunately vinyl has a lifespan, and it had gotten to the stage of needing a refresh. The City of Geraldton put out a call for submissions back in January, which I happily entered to try my luck again. This time around, the theme was to be inspired by "Midwest Life".

Of my three submissions, "My Favourite Colour is Rainbow" was selected. My design captures fond childhood memories of sweet treats at the beach and walking to the local deli on a hot Summer's day.

On Display Now

All of the winning bollard designs have now been printed and installed, spotted along Marine Terrace and the Geraldton Foreshore. Next time you're in town, make sure you take a moment to check out these fun public artworks. Turns out taking a selfie with a bollard is trickier than I imagined. I got one in the end...kind of...almost.

My name is Rachel Weaver. An artist inspired by sugar and spice… and things not so nice. Experimenting with polymer clay and mixed media to create the weird ideas that fill my head late at night.
