Where are the Horror Artists Down Under?
I know they're out there. That's why I've created a brand new Facebook Group Gizzards of Oz - to connect the Horror Artists of Australia!
I've been looking to join an Aussie horror art group for quite a long time now. Every so often I would search different terms on Facebook, but sadly end up with no matching results. Yes - there are Australian art groups and horror art groups - but NO Australian horror art groups! Not that I could find. I came to the realisation that I was going to have to create this group myself...
Follow The Red Dirt Road
After deciding to go ahead and just bloody well do it, the next hurdle was coming up with a name...Australia is often referred to as Oz, so Gizzards of Oz was born! Being a graphic designer, I whipped up a fun logo to capture what this group is all about. The crossed axe and paintbrush reference horror art, while also giving a nod to the Tin Man and his quest to find a heart. The Red Back Spider is an iconic and dangerous species that enforces the black and red colour palette.

Gizzards of Oz is open to ALL creative mediums (traditional/contemporary, 2D/3D) and ALL skill levels. Whether you're a professional Artist, just starting out or simply enjoy making creepy stuff. While this group has been created specifically for horror Artists located in Australia, enthusiasts and dark art collectors from around the world are welcome.
Horror is subjective, so anything that falls under this theme is generally acceptable - from realistically terrifying to creepy cute, the dark, macabre, spooky and surreal. Come and say hi! Connect and share your work with us;
